For Don's 30th birthday back in October, I took him on a little getaway to Lake Tahoe. It was very chilly but perfect fall weather, and practically empty since it wasn't tourist season. I snagged us a very small room (with a spa, wee!) right on the lake. We bundled up for moonlit beach walks and soaked in the turn of the season. It's fun looking back on these now, I can still feel the serenity.
