At the beginning of April, Don and I flew up for a whirlwind weekend in Monterey where Kelly and Brenda had planned a vacation for the family. The weather was gloriously sunny and we found our way to three different beaches in a single day! There was whale watching and tide pooling across the street, venturing through the shops of Carmel and even a lovely lunch stop at the same place Kelly and Brenda were married. We finished the day with a delicious dinner and played card games until bed. Pretty perfect, huh?
The following morning we enjoyed phenomenal strawberry French toast (thanks Dad!) and made a final visit to the crashing ocean waves before heading up to San Jose. In our small afternoon we squeezed in some bug catching at the park with Don's nephews followed by yummy boba drinks at a nearby cafe. So many good memories in such a short amount of time! We're grateful we didn't miss out on a single one.
