We had a three day weekend at our fingertips and Santa Cruz was calling our name with the promise of good waves and unseasonal 75 degree sunshine. Our bags were packed in a record 30 minutes just before journeying through SF, squeezing past Silicon Valley's rush hour, into our favorite hippie town. First stop: Cowell's Cove sunset. Soon after, we serendipitously stumbled upon a last minute hotel and proceeded to spend the following days soaking in the warm winter air.
There was surfing and jogging, Thai food and spa-ing, beach city strolls and mesmerizing pastel skies.
